$176.00

Petite Favorites!

A lifetime of character is found in the smallest of tasks. Step into a day in the life of the countryside with Wash Day (HUM 321 4/0). Part of our beloved Petite Favorites collection, this charming figurine captures a moment of childhood industry. With a determined look on her face and a tiny garment held high, this little girl reminds us that even the simplest chores can be a source of pride and purpose.

This piece is a celebration of the "heart of the home" and the fine detail possible in petite porcelain. Despite its smaller scale, Wash Day is hand-painted in Rödental, Germany, with the same meticulous attention to color and expression as our largest Masterpieces. From the texture of the laundry basket to the traditional patterns of her apron, it is a perfect miniature tribute to the virtues of hard work and helpfulness.

To create a delightful display of childhood chores and daily adventures, pair "Wash Day" with these fellow Petite Favorites:

  • Playmates (HUM 58/I): Add a moment of well-earned rest with this boy and his rabbit friends after the chores are done.

  • Morning Call (HUM 2227): Set the scene for a busy farm morning with this inquisitive boy and his rooster.

  • Well Done (HUM 400): Celebrate the completion of a long day's work with this classic symbol of achievement.

  1. Very sweet Hummel 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 18th 2017

I purchased this Hummel for my mother for Mothers Day along with another. She is an avid collector and has hundreds. I added this one as an after thought and I am so glad I did. She is beautiful and her little apron rises in the back to show her little legs and shoes. She is adorable. My mother loves her.

More Information

The first sample of Wash Day was made in 1955 by Master Sculptor Reinhold Unger and Helmut Wehite, and a smaller version was introduced in 1989 as part of a set with a mini-plate. Temporarily withdrawn from production in 1997, this tiny charmer has now been reborn as part of the Petite Favorites Collection.
