The soundtrack to a summer evening. What could be finer than sitting together on a warm twilight evening, the air filled with the lilting notes of a folk melody? Our young musician in Accordion Ballad (HUM 857) certainly agrees. Perched on a rustic stool with his favorite instrument, he plays his melody with infectious verve, setting the tone for a perfectly summery atmosphere.

This piece is a tribute to the "Serenade"—a style of open-air music famously epitomized by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik in 1787. Much like those classic compositions, Accordion Ballad is designed to evoke the feeling of musical accompaniment for warm, starlit nights. First launched under the historic Goebel flag and meticulously hand-painted, this figurine is a true listening pleasure for the eyes!

Since serenades are best enjoyed as a group, consider pairing the Accordion Ballad with these other masters of melody to complete your musical display:

The Little Fiddler (HUM 2): To add a string section to your summer evening concert.
Serenade (HUM 85): A perfect thematic match, featuring a young flute player in a matching top hat.
Band Leader (HUM 129): To keep all your musical figurines in perfect time.
Soloist (HUM 135): To provide the vocals for your accordion accompaniment.
