Ring around the Rosie - HUM 348
Hurray, spring is here: Just when spring has driven away winter, the girls dance around holding hands. The "Ring around the Rosie" (Ringelreihen)
are an old tradition in German culture. A popular children's rhyme that is sung to accompany this dance goes: (Loosely translated)
Ring-a-roses, ring-a-roses,
We are three children,
sitting under the elder bush,
All going hush, hush, hush....
"Ring around the Rosie" is a true Hummel classic. It delight Hummel fans with its splendor of detail: lovingly painted hair accessories, cute faces with ruddy cheeks from dancing and even a few flower buds that will soon be in full bloom. The girls’ group was first launched in the USA on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Hummel figurines in 1960.
This figurine goes well with "Franconia Dance (Set)" (HUM 2433 & HUM 2434). The costumes are inspired by the traditional Lindenkirchweih.
