As we approach the transition from Club Year 49 into the milestone of CY50 this June, I’ve been reflecting on what it takes to keep this tradition alive.

Maintaining the Artisanal Standard

The beauty of a Hummel lies in the details: the gentle feathering of a brushstroke, the soft, earthy palettes, and the meticulous mold-making process that takes place in Germany. To maintain these high standards while navigating the complexities of global trade and rising material costs, a pricing adjustment is necessary.

• Annual Membership: $150.00 ($172.50 inclusive of the 15% US Tariff)

• Annual Companion Figurine: $250.00 ($287.50 inclusive of the 15% US Tariff)

These changes ensure that the artisans behind the scenes can continue to produce the quality we expect, ensuring that the Hummel legacy remains untarnished for the next generation of collectors.

A Window of Opportunity

While change is a sign of growth, savvy collectors know that timing is everything. If you are looking to complete your CY49 set or have been eyeing a specific companion figurine, the next few weeks are your "golden window."

You have until March 31st, 2026, to lock in the current, lower rates.

Whether you are looking to renew your membership or fulfill a back-order for a previous year, acting before the April 1st deadline is the most practical way to grow your display. It’s the perfect moment to ensure your collection stays current before we step into the historic CY50 celebrations this June.

Every figurine a masterpiece

The tablet colors to your right are true colors used by the artists at the workshop. There is a 6-step process to crafting a figurine from start to finish. Two of those steps include a painting process that is sometimes worked on by multiple hands with care.

When you surround yourself with Hummel Figurines, you also surround yourself with colors. Yellow for example is the color most comfortable on the eyes.  Have you ever walked into a yellow painted room and noticed it brighten your mood? Colors can also influence or reflect our emotions. The bright earth-tone colors at Hummel make each figurine feel warm and peaceful.

Thinking back, we’ve created many happy memories together. Think about the times when you open the old photo-graph album and browse pictures. Each one tends to cause us to smile and feel something warm inside. Taking the time to reflect on positive experiences and memories has a healing effect upon our minds. It can lead to combating depression and anxiety. It can change the way we view others and ourselves.

Dear Hummel friends,

News from Hummel in Rödental: In keeping with a beautiful tradition, I would like to report to you following the first hundred days since I “took office.” It‘s now been around a hundred days since I assumed control of the Hummel Manufaktur.

My team has achieved quite a lot in the last few months. We have carried out extensive clean-up work throughout the company. We have bought all the rights concerning Hummel, uniting them in our hands. We are working on many new figurines that you can truly look forward to. We have proudly created a brand new, informative, 68-page customer magazine, the “Hummel Post.” All this, so that you can again be happy about Hummel – about many new, fascinating figurines and good service.

Why am I telling you this? You need to know that we first had to solve important fundamental issues to get the Hummel Manufaktur back on a sound footing. To accomplish that we have needed these first hundred days. At the same time, we want you to know that you, the customers and collectors in North America, are just as important to us as our German customers. In the future you will be well-informed about Hummel figurines: This week you will receive the newly printed English Hummel Post. By September at the latest, we will have also established all the structures for the American market in such a way that there will be no further delays in the communication and deliveries of figurines.

Our airlift across the Atlantic by UPS is now available: The figurines you order will be delivered from Rödental directly to your home within 36 hours. With Bill Nelson, who has been associated with the Hummel Manufaktur for many years, I have been able to win a knowledgeable Hummel veteran. He will be a link helping us to work to your satisfaction on all your concerns and questions about the world of Hummel figurines.

My team and I are putting our hearts and souls into our work for the Hummel figurines, so that you as a collector will receive the best possible quality. And I ask you: Please give us your support! You’ve already known and loved Hummel figurines for a long time.

Today you finally get some news from Hummel: We are happy to announce that we purchased the company Hummel Manufaktur on Dec. 22, 2017. By this we continue its long and valuable tradition of Hummel figurines. Our aim was to join all parts of 83 years of Hummel tradition in order to
strengthen the brand and reestablish its original fascination.

Today we can say – we made it! For the first time in the history of
Hummel everything lies in one hand – one Hummel, one company!
We have the full support of the Convent in Sießen and production
of new figurines is in full swing again. We are working hard on the figurines and sent the first ones to the States already.

We met recently Ken LeFevre and Chuck Harley, the managing partners of Newboden, who rendered outstanding services all those years concerning the Hummel brand. Ken and Chuck are deligthed to hand it over to us and trust that Hummel USA will be in new good hands in the future.

We do understand that lots of you had to wait quite a while for some news
concerning the fate of Hummel Manufaktur. Please believe me:
We do our very best to satisfy all needs around the figurines and most of all to please you - the faithful collectors. So far it was – and still is – lots of work to establish a solid future for the Hummel, though. Officially I have been 1-Euro-salary-CEO of Hummel Manufaktur since January 15, 2018. Within the first two months we created new clear structures for the company which means a big success. Since then we literally are driving full speed “on German Autobahn”!

Good news: The website www.hummelgifts.com remains for the time
being so that you can order your figurines like you are used to.
We try to make the transition a smooth one and we are sure: until mid-year we will have finished the necessary restructuring of the company. In the meantime: If you are interested in how the new Hummel flies in Germany, please enter www.hummelfiguren.com. Our new German website is online and is constantly worked upon – especially regarding the club details. Its US version will follow very soon.

Our production is already running at full speed, whereby it is particularly important to us that the quality of the figurines does not suffer. On the contrary, you as a loyal fan and collector should keep the best quality “made in Germany“ in your hands.

We thank newboden and their fantastic team for their engagement
concerning Hummel over all these years and know that they will support us
also in the years to come. For you, our dear customer and Hummel fan,
the most important things remain the same. The airlift of products is working and thousands of figurines are already on their way to the states. and we start with excellent news: From may 1st on we will ship any Hummel figurines direct from rödental/Germany to the frontstep of your home within only 48 hours – without any additional costs to your usual delivery fee!

some more information is on its way to you: The new magazine Hummel-Post (formerly insights) will be ready by mid-april. The next magazines will be issued regularly every quarter of the year. We did not forget the mem-bership card. We are still in a process of technology transfer and will provide you with your card soonest possible starting with the new club year in June.

There will be many new figurines introduced this year and most of all:
Hummel will return to its old strength again. We are sure – you will appreciate that! accompany me to lead the Hummel back to its old high standing again!

To give their collector’s a louder voice in the digital age of on-line consumerism and social media, the American Hummel collector will soon have a “voice” at the factory. Hummel Manufaktur GmbH of Kulmbach, Germany, is expanding sales and customer support at the historic Hummel factory home in Rödental, Bavaria.

Hummel Manufaktur GmbH announced the acquisition of the exclusive North American sales activities and Hummel Club management formerly serviced by Newboden LLC. With this purchase, “We are dedicated to assure long life for Original Hummel figurines,” comments Mr. Foertsch, Managing Director of Hummel Manufaktur.

All existing business relationships with customers, in particular Hummel Club Members, will continue and customers will be able to access the full product range of Hummel figurines as usual.

For a transitional period until the end of April 2018, existing and new orders will be processed and operated in cooperation between Newboden and Hummel Manufaktur. As of May 2018, all sales and distribution activities for North America will be carried out in North America by Hummel Manufaktur.

The takeover of Newboden's business activities by Hummel Manufaktur will ensure that Hummel customers in North America will continue to have access to the newest and highest quality hand made products of Hummel Manufaktur in the future.

Mr. Foertsch, Managing Director of Hummel Manufaktur comments: “We are very delighted to have reached an agreement with Newboden and their Managing Partners Ken LeFevre and Charles Harley for the benefit of all Hummel customers in North America. It is our mutual goal and interest to lead Hummel back to its old strength. I am convinced that we are well on our way to do that!”
